The Birth of Daydream: From a Shared Vision to a Legacy of Inspiration

Daydream was born from a spark—one that ignited in the hearts of seven dreamers who believed in something bigger than themselves. We came from different backgrounds, different corners of the world, but we were bound by a shared love for creation, community, and the limitless energy of Burning Man. Before Daydream, there was PlayaSkool—a camp we poured our souls into, a space where curiosity thrived, and where countless burners found their way home. For years, we built it, nurtured it, and watched it grow into something extraordinary.

But as the dust always reminds us, evolution is inevitable. The time came to transform, to break open new possibilities, and to embrace a fresh vision. Daydream was that vision—a sanctuary for radical expression, a playground for the mind, a heartbeat in the endless rhythm of the playa. It wasn’t just a camp; it was an invitation to dream without limits, to create without fear, and to connect on the deepest level.

From our home in Black Rock City, Play)A(Skool became a springwell of inspiration, seeding the birth of other legendary camps like PlayaAlchemist, Mayan Warrior, Maxa, Serendipitea, Pathogen Tracker, Dragonfly, and more. We weren’t just building art, music, and experiences—we were building a movement. A ripple of creative energy that extended far beyond our own camp, shaping the fabric of Burning Man itself.

Each year, we return to the dust, not just as founders, but as family—welcoming new dreamers into our ever-growing story. Daydream isn’t just our past or our present; it’s a living, breathing force of imagination, waiting for those who dare to step inside and bring the dream to life.
